Heather Racano Bio for Annual General Meeting
Heather is a dynamic and inspirational leader in the field of public speaking. Heather is an award winning speaker and corporate trainer presenting programs across North America on public speaking and positive networking.
Heather spent 14 years developing and maintaining excellent client relationships in a successful public service career. Life was good until her boss asked her to "give a presentation!" Without beating around the bush, Heather stunk! The speech was ordinary, dull and it was something she knew she had to not only fix, but master. As a result, she joined Toastmasters International in 2004 and discovered very quickly her passion for public speaking. Without hesitation she jumped into the competitive speaking arena in 2005 winning her a spot on the stage among the top 5 speakers in Canada.
Heather has continued on her quest for learning by taking courses through Athabasca University, enlisting an internationally renowned speech coach and keeping her eye out for any opportunity to grow. Her new passion soon caused her to leave her public service job to move into a career of professional speaking and speech coaching.

Day for Thanksgiving -Winnipeg Harvest
Thank you to everyone who volunteered at Winnipeg Harvest on Saturday, October 14, 2009 for our 4 th Annual Day for Thanksgiving. It was our biggest volunteer group ever, our group brought in 50 lbs of food, and met (well, beyond exceeded) the challenge of sorting our group weight in potatoes and onions!
Apparently we sorted over 6000 lbs of potatoes and onions - twice the amount of our own group weight – not to mention that we apparently were the fastest, most efficient group they could recall sorting all that food.
Congratulations everyone on a job well done. Everyone at Winnipeg Harvest was so thrilled with our energy and the willingness of everyone to give their time.

The Power of Body Language
Tonya Reiman has shared her body language analysis and knowledge in communication with various Newspapers, Radio and TV media such as Fox, CN8, Access Hollywood, EXTRA and Fast Money.
She is also a regular weekly guest on The O'Reilly Factor. She has been a contributor to dozens of articles on body language featured in popular media like Cosmopolitan, Life & Style, Time Magazine, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Positive Thinking and others. Tonya's passion for body language began in her first year of college at Pace University when a psychology professor came nose to nose with her in order to demonstrate the significance of "personal space".
Body language or non-verbal communication makes up approximately 75% of all communication. Did you know that you can determine if a person is lying by a subtle shift in their eyes? You can learn if they are interested in you simply by noticing their pupils.
